Blood Viscosity

Intended Use

The blood viscosity test is a biophysical assay that monitors changes in the amount of solid materials in blood plasma for various disorders.  Blood viscosity is a direct measure of the blood's ability to flow. Blood viscosity testing gives you an overall picture of how the solid content, including cholesterol and fibrinogen, in blood plasma affects the blood’s ability to flow.

Blood viscosity testing is performed by The Blood Clinic using a calibrated glass capillary system classified as a Class I device under U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and which is 510(k) exempt. The measurement obtained using this device is used to monitor changes in the amount of solids present in blood plasma in various disorders.
